Meet The Artist

An Artistic Journey

Manisha Khandelwal is an Ontario-based visual artist and art educator whose creative journey has taken her from India to Dubai and, more recently, to Canada.

Her professional life began in Delhi, where she founded a graphic design studio in 1997. An interest in ceramics and interior design led her to Dubai in 2008, where she spent twelve years working in the design industry. It was during this time that art quietly found its way back into her life. Fascinated by how a painting or an artefact could transform a space and evoke a feeling, she began exploring colour, form and the expressive possibilities of painting.

What began as a personal rediscovery gradually grew into a passionate artistic practice. Watercolour, with its fluidity, luminosity and element of surprise, became her preferred medium. For Manisha, the pleasure lies as much in the process as in the finished work — in allowing colours to flow, ideas to evolve and unexpected moments to become part of the story.

An avid traveller, she draws inspiration from the character of places, the changing moods of nature and the people she encounters along the way. Her work reflects a continuing curiosity about the world and the quiet connections that make it meaningful. Her paintings have been exhibited internationally and are held in private collections.

Art Education & Professional Journey

The joy of creating soon grew into a desire to share it. With more than fifteen years of experience teaching drawing, sketching and painting, Manisha has discovered that helping others find confidence in their creativity can be as rewarding as developing her own artistic practice.

She founded Magic Fingers Art Studios in Dubai, continued her teaching journey in India, and adapted her classes to an online format during the COVID-19 pandemic. After moving to Canada, she began a new chapter in Brampton, establishing and incorporating Magic Fingers Art Studios in Ontario in 2025.

Today, the studio offers art classes and creative workshops for children and adults, bringing people together through exploration, learning and self-expression. Across countries and changing chapters of life, Manisha’s purpose has remained constant: to make art accessible, nurture curiosity and create space for people to discover the joy of making something uniquely their own.
