Manisha Khandelwal is a Canada based artist, painting and experimenting with watercolors for the past several years. She began her career as a Graphic Designer in Delhi and founded her design studio in 1997, working with various industries for the next 14 years. Ceramics and Interior Designing were her prime interests. She moved to Dubai in 2008, and lived and worked there for the next 12 years.
Manisha believes what is meant for you will find a way to you. While working with the interior design industry in Dubai, she regularly visited exhibitions and was mesmerizingly drawn to the various artefacts displayed and their capacity to completely change the mood and vibes of a place. They had the power to connect lifeless things and weave a story around them, to bring lush greens into a dry desert-like room, to play a lively rhythm in an awkward quiet space. This led to a re-discovery of her passion to paint, to play with colours and forms on a two-dimensional plane. What she found more inspiring was the realisation that the process of creating art was more fulfilling than the completed artwork itself, the interaction of the artist with the colours and shapes during the creative process was purely blissful!
Experimenting with various art mediums, Manisha’s love for watercolours was rekindled and what started as a hobby soon became a passionate career. It has been a beautiful journey since then. An avid traveller, her travel experiences have a big influence on her work. Meeting people and connecting with them, she learned that spreading her love for art with other art enthusiasts and incepting them into this magnificent world through teaching is her true calling.
She has been part of some prestigious international art exhibitions and demonstrations and her artworks can be found in many private collections.
